A smaller car than I imagined. Osca engine?

Not a German engine or a Osca engine.  :)

Alfa Romeo engine?

This is correct ...

French engine ?

... Which obviously means that this is wrong.

There is a distinct lack of information about this car!

It's not the Lofa. Was it called A.R.E. ?

I'm not quite sure what the emoticon means, but I've also seen it entered as the A.R.I . Is this the name of the car?

Have you found the car entered as that somewhere? No, that should not be the name of it. I'm pretty sure I have the right name as the source for it also provides a relative in-dept history of the car.

No. I'm just guessing, using the names of cars entered in SCCA events of that date. They're not stupid guesses, but cars in F-Mod classes which used an Alfa engine.

Now I understand your earlier question. I had misread the name of the car in an entry list - I was very close!

It's the ACI BoMiske Special.

The design of the car was based on a sketch on a napkin made by Bo Miskes mechanic. It was built using a bespoke steel tube chassis. Front and rear suspension was by unequal length A-arms (upper non-adjustable, lower adjustable) with coilover shocks and transverse rear leaf springs. Dunlop discs were fitted up front while drum brakes were located at the rear. It was powered by Alfa DOHC engine with 40 DCOE sidedraft Webers. The body was built in aluminum and it is believed to have been constructed by a "Indy car builder" (no name is given). It sat on magnesium wheels.

It was raced in the 14th Grand Prix at Watkins Glen, on September 23, 1961 (20th place), the 20th Annual Cumberland National Championship and Regional Races on May 13, 1962 (DNF), and it was entered in the NE Ohio Regional Races in August of 1962 (not known if it completed the race).

It was recently listed for sale at $45k through Hemmings.
