Do you have a concrete identity on this that you are looking for? The reason I'm asking is because it was posted on a website a while back where they were asking for people to identify it as they did not know what it was. As far as I know they never did confrim the identity but it was suggested that it was a a second gen Pontiac Fiero mock-up or something that was produced at DGP.

The website I found the picture on was pretty definite that it was in fact a mock-up of a proposed 1990 Pontiac Fiero, but other than that I have no more information.  I can't say it looks much like a GM studio mind you, so it might just be a proto for a Fiero-based kit-car...  But it is feasible that it's a prototype for a 1990 Fiero so we'll to go with it; below is a front view.

I'll call it solved and I've given you your point, unless anyone can prove otherwise.

This design is better resolved than 99% of the kit cars made up to 1990 so I would say it's an in-house GM design despite the crude surroundings.

The windshield and non-opening 'vent window' suggest a late 80's early 90's GM styling hand. But the taillights with the slits beneath suggest a Chrysler connection - think 1st generation Intrepid.

Many Detroit-are 'job shops' banged mock-ups and prototype builds like this -many of which were displayed at the Detroit Auto Show, SEMA, etc. - which would jibe with the 'Joe's garage' feel of the building.
