Yes yes yes, we all know what the base car is, but look more closely! What is this, and more importantly who built it to gain a point?

It could be this .... ''This RV8GT has been meticulously built by Philip Jones to RV8 Specification.
The transition involved 2 donor cars, an MGBGT and an accident damaged RV8 from which the parts were sourced.
The project took over 12 months and involved may hours of modifying the MGBGT to accept the RV8 parts.

After completing his RV8GT Philip used the remaining bits and pieces to create another original an RV8 Trailer''

Actually this particular car is not the Philip Jones MG RV8 GT, as it was built by someone else.

However, as your Philip Jones information is so comprehensive, and it is almost Christmas, I will award you a point anyway, but keep this puzzle open for the name of the builder of this actual car (who made more than one!).

I read that John Hills made some kits for RV8 conversions to the BGT, and that Maidstone Sports Cars MSC also created a car or two. There a few pictures of these conversions on the net, it suits the BGT very well.

As you say Navara, John Hills and MSC have also created MG R V8 GTs, but sadly this isn't one of them, so the search continues...

Are you sure it isn't Philip Jones' RV8 GT? On a V8 Register PDF you can find the pictured car (see license plate) as Peter Kuruber's new car (cf. attached picture) and on a MG RV8 dedicated forum you can find a post by Peter Kuruber:

As the article says, the car was previously owned by Philip Jones, but according to the current owner Peter Kuruber, it was not built by him.

Mr Jones was not the owner of the car I met. Thi car was built by a specific MG specialist, which is the name I still seek for a point.
