Alas! I've never heard anything any more about these two marvels
I had the above info from a book about Dutch car design, and now I found an article about these two cars in the (usually very well informed) Dutch Citroën magazine CitroExpert (January 2001):
On two new chassis with (of course) th 425 cc 12 bhp engine, delivered by the Belgian Citroën factory, Akkermans built these futuristic aluminium bodies in three months of time. They had a big hatch (from the top of the tailfin down to the floor) to get easy access to the huge luggage space. Most probably these cars will have found their end on a junkyard, but who knows, maybe sometime somebody will find them in a Belgian barn...
[Between 1994 and 2002 I had a Belgian built 1956 2CV AZL (aluminium bumpers, special long bootlid with central Hella brakelight, taillights of a Traction Avant, oddly shaped rear window, etc. etc.), the one and only known in Holland. But one day driving around in the region of Amsterdam an elderly man on wooden shoes signed me to stop. He said he had the same car, only in a different colour. And indeed he did: original light grey paint with darg green wheels, original interior and roof, even the original tires and battery... But the car needs a total restoration and the man was not willing to sell. He planned to restore the 2CV after he'd finnished his Ford Model T...]
