Hi guys – Walt here. Wow – Otto still hasn’t changed his password. His carelessness means you could be racking up more points. And not just any points - these are limited edition Anniversary Points (with 16% more pointy goodness that our regular points)!
Here’s how this Scavenger Hunt works:
I have selected a puzzle from each of AutoPuzzles first 10 years (2006-2015). I have written a series of sometimes simple, sometimes cryptic clues. Your job is to use those clues, and your sleuthing skills to find the puzzle that each clue refers to, and the year in which was solved. You have until the Big Day (16 April, 2016 – or April 16, as we say here in the USofA) to correctly identify as many puzzles, and the years in which they were solved, as possible.
A Correct answer will be phrased as follows:
#1 is (puzzle title), solved in (year), as seen here (puzzle URL)
If an AutoPuzzles Member (APM) can correctly identify each of the 10 treasure puzzles and years, 10 points are yours! As this is difficult, and it is possible nobody will get all 10, I will use a graduated scale to award points, as follows.
One Puzzle correctly ID'd: 1 Point
Two Puzzles correctly ID'd: 2 Points
Three Puzzles correctly ID'd: 3 Points
Four Puzzles correctly ID'd: 4 Points
Five Puzzles correctly ID'd: 5 Points
Six Puzzles correctly ID'd: 6 Points
Seven Puzzles correctly ID'd: 7 Points
Eight Puzzles correctly ID'd: 8 Points
Nine Puzzles correctly ID'd: 9 Points
Ten Puzzles correctly ID'd: 10 Points
If more than one APM gets all ten, before the Big Day, the first correct answer takes all points. If 9 correct is the best answer, the first to 9 wins the 9 points, and so on.
Here are the numbers, and the clues
#1 A breezy name blew in, and PJ skort (not a typo) another point (as did SACO)
#2 It may bug you to know that this is an organism (such as an insect) that transmits a pathogen.
#3 No horsing around, this name suggests a Sisyphean task for any car (or truck)
#4 Not a Blackshirt; it's a (probably) black car.
#5 Not a light bulb, but you'll get the idea when the sun rises.
#6 Once upon a time, TV shows were built around a central automotive 'character'.
#7 This 'car', never built, was vaporware before that term was coined. In this case, a minimal amount of vapor.
#8 Alex was repeating himself with this contraption.
#9 Who I was is not who I am
#10 Your Tyrannosaur would find this one not too complex.
Enjoy!
