Yes indeed, this is a rather special 1965 Ferrari 330 GT Cabriolet special by Michelotti. Sadly not shown in the more striking yellow & black combination earlier on in its life.

That's right, yes.
It spent a couple of years of its life with that strangely plain front fitted in the USA, but thankfully is back to normal again now (below).

Actually your picture shows Michelotti's coupe.

You are correct that the front was restored back to original, though I can't seem to find an image of it in fully restored form unfortunately.
