A clue - this car has been modified from the usual appearance. It is actually a very well-known make and model.

Yes, that's the car. It has been modified and looks far more modern.

However, that's not the driver identified in the caption of my puzzle image. Because this is the Pros I suppose I must ask you to complete the answers in full - LOCKED for Wendax. I want to know the date and the event, although I confess I have no firm information about the driver, but according to my records, it's not Troeltsch.

The car is generally known as the Burggaller car, because it was owned and updated by one-time Auto Union driver E G Burggaller.
