« on: October 08, 2015, 02:12:46 AM »
No doubt about the base car.

For one point, please respond and identify the coachbuilder and the purpose of this car.

You are right, except that the conversion was not done by Karmann. Locked for you.

Bakker from The Hague made the top

They were called  "halfje wit" wich is refering to  a halve loaf of white bread.

I've also seen the forum post that the top was supplied by Bakker, but I have a different name as responsible for the conversion. Still locked for you.

A "half wit" is what my wife likes to refer to me as!
(And it doesn't have anything to do with white bread in English...!)

No, that is the Wolfsburg emblem that was applied by Volkswagen on most of the Beeles in the 1950s and early 1960s. Below you can see this and the Hebmüller emblem:

I am short of time just now, but could it be Beutler from Switzerland?

Here is a similar Porsche which the Dutch Police purchased in the hundreds.

Not Beutler, not Swiss.

The connection to the early soft-window 911 Targa is interesting.
