Starting with the running gear, it has a welded box frame chassis. Front suspension is Herald with coil over shocks and disc brakes. (Top wishbones have been modified with the ends reduced and the top trunnion turned through 90°.....see photos lower down ad.) Ford Cortina live rear axle, rear suspension coil over shocks with panhard rods and Herald drum brakes. (The original donor was a Herald and these bits mentioned are pretty well all that remains from the donor vehicle.) Handling is very positive and responsive.Power unit is a Triumph TR2 (circa 1955) 1991cc. Engine commission no. from log book is TS6779F. It has a fully functional Laycock de Normanville overdrive which works in 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Twin 1 1/2" SU carbs. (See bottom of advert for more extensive spec details of the whole car.) Odometer showing 76,960 miles. As the speedo is from a TR2, I would guess this is correct for this engine......but obviously this is only my personal opinion. I have pretty well all the MOT's dating back to '82 when the build was done which verifies mileage as it stands.Cobra dragslot alloy wheels. (Excellent tyres all round.) Fantastic Corbeau seats. Mixture of original TR2 and later dials on dashboard. TR2 instruments - Smiths speedo (as mentioned above), indicator switch, adv/retard, gear lever etc...... Very nice period feel. Fantastic brass one off aero screens. They are a really nice touch. Lovely "King of the Road" headlamps. A full windscreen and hardtop also comes with the vehicle but I have always used it with just the aeros.......it's what it was designed for. The hardtops pivots backwards from hinge points at rear then attaches from inside the cockpit. (There are switches and brackets to attach wipers if you fit the full windscreen.)Chassis is solid......no rot and no welding required. In the 4 years I've owned the vehicle, it has past all it's MOT every time with no advisories.Very slight oil leak from rear diff but this is minimal and has never been an issue during my ownership. This is not a long haul vehicle.....it's for blasts down the country lanes. The build dates from approximately 1982 and I am the second owner since the person who built it. As the vehicle was constructed back in '82 it was built pre SVA regulations and as such the V5 classification is correct. Registered as an Historic Vehicle (Tax Free), body type Sports with correct 1991cc engine on logbook. (Proof of build date from an article in Kit Car magazine Sept 1983 - provided.)
