Be serious, folks! I cannot move this one to the pros. There must be an expert around who might have seen a similar looking car in his life, so that he can place a guess.

I think it is Volkswagen number 1-00003, a pre-production car. It was a restored car, but suffered in a fire in Hamburg, along with several other collector cars.

One of the VW 39 series , only 14 were built & had stamped panels unlike the more handbuilt VW 38.
This car is the only survivor ,( just about !)from 39 & is currently being restored thankfully

You are both right, but Zerk was first, and I guess he would have easily provided the VW39 denomination, if I had asked for it. Better luck next time, 72Must.
