Did the manufacturer of this truck also manufacture cars and/or tractors?
-
No, I only know of this truck. I don't know whether it ever entered any kind of series production. I couldn't find anything more about this truck, just a year, the builder and that it is the first truck built by his company.
-
Do you know if the company in question produced some product other than transportation goods (road, rail or air)?

When you say the company "is still active in the metal working business", do you mean that they produce complete assembled products made of metal components, or do you mean that they are a machine shop which produces metal components for other company's assembled products?
-
Maybe it is a giveaway hint: it is a welding company.
-
Well I don't think it was a giveaway hint, but it does narrow the focus a bit. I'm having a great deal of trouble locating active Vienna welding companies predating 1945, let alone circa 1910, however I have located at least one. How about Böhler Welding, founded in 1870?

does the company's activities relate to bicycles?
I just have the company's name which says that it is a welding company. It could be that they have closed down within the last years. And it is mentioned in a bicycle related blog, because they didn't want to weld a certain material for guarantee reasons.
KR ALOIS BERGER - ALLEININHABER?
No
-
and was the photo sourced from an Austrian picture library?

No, I found it on ebay quite some time ago.
-
ANDREAS GRUNTHAL GESELLSCHAFT?

Let me get this straight: a few years ago a postcard was offered for sale on ebay showing a truck made by an obscure Austrian company. (Possibly it was just a badge engineering job). When you tried to find more info on the company, there was almost zero info on the web, except an odd blog post where it was mentioned that it's a welding company. Do I understand you correctly?
-
Almost. When you enter the company's name in Google, you get more than 100 hits. If you use keywords that can be derived from this puzzle, you should be able to find the company's name within the first two or thre pages of results.

IBAS Schweißtechnik GmbH ?

Otto Feyer?

Otto Feyer is correct. I'll post more information tonight.
One well-earned point for you.

Here is the original postcard. It reads:
Mein erstgebauter 5 Tonnen Lastenauto Chassie bei der Firma Feyer & Co. Wien Hernalserhauptstrasse No 90
Josef Feyer Robert Rehak
Vogel & Bernhart
Wien, am 14. Oktober 1919
(My first selfbuilt 5 ton truck chassis at the Feyer & Co company, Vienna, Hernalserhauptstrasse 90)
I don't know anything else about it. So it might be that only the chassis was built at Feyer for another truck manufacturer. Additional information welcome, as always.
