Car art.

For one point, please respond and identify this car.

This is the illustration on the cover of the recently auctioned August 1926 program booklet: II CORSA AUTOMOBILISTICA CUNEO COLLE MADDALENA.  I assume that the car shown is not a particular model, but an artist's composite, however it could be a drawing of an actual brand.

well...I think the answer is clearly visible....an Itala Tipo 61 ;)
Not my point, of course.

Well, what to do now? 4popoid provided the solution without noticing it, but Paul Jaray gave the correct answer. I would have locked it for 4popoid to have a closer look, if I had read his post in time. I'll give the point to 4popoid, because Paul renounced it. Is it fine with you?

Paul Jaray

Fine for me, I would have never recognised the car without his pic and he doubtless did the hardest part finding that program.

Thanks guys!  I feel a little silly, not seeing the obvious.  My only excuse, and a very lame one, is that, for whatever reason, I was unable to enlarge the picture, and thus couldn't decipher the "Itala".  Not realizing that the radiator marking was actually a logo, and incorrectly thinking that a particular brand (let alone type) would not be placed on a supposedly impartial event program, I interpreted the drawing to be a generic car with a fictitious event number 61.  I'll try a be more careful in the future, and not rely on your kindness and generosity.

Paul Jaray

You found an obscure race program from a quite generic design...that's impressive. The fact that you didn't notice the logo (and I am sure you are not the only one) can't obscure that. I just jumped in with an easy ID but with a lock your attention would have  caught those details. I just accelerate the process (and probably shouldn't have... ) :)
