Yes, it is a publicity car for Beka (Can any fellow puzzler from the Benelux countries enlighten us about their trade?), built by Louis Maes from Antwerpen (Ainé means the elder). If I decipher the letters at the front correctly, it was built on a Ford chassis.

Hi Gerd:

Since I do not seem to be able to solve any autopuzzles lately, I have been doing research on the
background or history of some of the puzzle vehicles.

In this case, Beka was and is a famous bed and bedding company in Brussels.  As well, a German firm Beka
made and makes today kitchen utensils which are sold throughout Europe.  As your photo is not all that
clear, I cannot say what the photos on the vehicle represent but it is probably one of the two companies.

It was identified at the belgian transportmuseum site, which is now closed.  I thought Gerd would move it on Sunday, but alas it was Saturday night fever...

A few months ago when I was doing my "round the world tour" of smaller European and South American countries websites,
I found that Belgian site and only "cherry picked" a couple dozen or so of the photos I was immediately interested in.

I bookmarked the main site and several individual marque threads intending to return and finish going through the whole site at a later date.  When I did so yesterday, I discovered, as you perhaps already knew, the site was gone.

Do you know if someone else has picked up the site under a new name?  It was a gold mine of information and I hate to see it completely gone.

Unfortunately not, Bill. This was a very well-organized site and I can't understand why it was closed, as there is plenty of memory on the cloud.  Some people seem to be really stupid.

Hi again Patrick:

By some stroke of luck, I had saved one page as an html file and it was still there, one on FN trucks.
I was able to capture their email address and I just this minute sent them an email asking if they
were going to restore the site at some future date or replace it with another site.

I will let you know what their answer is.
