Was this car manufactured sometime between 1910 and 1915 (inclusive), say about 1913?

You haven't confirmed this yet Gerd, but, based on your initial reply, I'll stay with it until advised otherwise.  So, how about an: Auburn 33L from 1913?

The time span is right, but the car is not from 1913 and not an Auburn.

I found it too late:
"One of only 2 Empire residing in Europe and one of less than 25 known to exist. The empire cars were built in Indianapolis, U.S.A. from 1909 to 1917."

See PJ, you were being protected.  I was going to say Empire, but switched to Marion when you posted Empire.  Fortunately you switched back, as Rob is correct.  The puzzle car is a 1911 Empire Model 31, shown here.

Hey guys, you like it complicated, don't you?

What to do now? Paul Jaray was the first to mention Empire, ropat53 was the first one who found the car, and 4popoid was the first one to give the complete answer.

I tend to give the point to 4popoid for the complete answer. Any complaints?

There's not a rule for that and when there's no time for the puzzler to set it there could only be a 'courtesy lock' for other puzzler...but I won't change my way to solve puzzles and after all 4popoid spent some time on this puzzle too.  :)

I appreciate your generosity Gerd.  As I said previously I would have posted Empire, but PJ originally posted it first.  However, I probably would never have found the exact car without Rob's post.  At the very least ropat53 deserves a point as well.  If you want to award only one point, give it to Rob, as he clearly knew the correct car, he just didn't post it.

I'll follow 4popoid's suggestion and award one point each to him and ropat53. Better luck next time, Paul.

Thank you for the point, but I'm not sure I deserve it. As you can imagine, when I found the puzzle car, I also found all the information about it, but I didn't post it because I thought it wasn't right and that Paul Jaray deserved the chance to fill in the details, which he surely would have been able to do.
