Can you identify this vehicle? Make, year and, most of all, coachbuilder are requested.

Looks as if it could be a 1940 Chevrolet, somewhere in South America perhaps?

targhediferro

It's a GM, a bit older than 1940, but not from South America.

richard cuyler

Looks as if it's from a hot climate, Australia perhaps?

Is this a 1937 Chev with an Arntzen 'ambulance' conversion?

targhediferro

I think it's from 1936, I doubt it's a Chevy (I have to dig about it), but I'm quite sure it never was an ambulance.

According to the information I have, this is a 1936 Buick that was rebodied by the Spanish firm Salvador Caba (Cabanas) and it was used as transport for his family.

I do not have the years of construction for all of his conversions, I suspect it was after the Spanish Civil War and could perhaps been after 1945, but he did a large number of such rebody jobs mostly on American vehicle chassis.

Here is a better photo.
