To sum it up, the company is Italian but has a German name, and it is still active (making trailers and cranes), am I right ?

Is the company located in Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol region like Niederstätter ?

Werkstätte Frei & Co from Karneid ?
Ta-Da....Werkstaette Frei is right....I have it from Blumau (Prato Isarco), but I'm quite sure it's the same.  I understand this is the very first prototype they realized at the end of the fifties!  Two very well deserved point for you.
