Was there a completed real vehicle made by the same man/maker?

not made in a Mediterranean country. I don't know its manufacturer (and it is not important anyhow). Find the purpose and we can go from there. Yes, there was a real vehicle as well, but if I show you that - you'll say a-ha and this puzzle is quickly over.

So it's a rejected proposal for a car that was built eventually ?

It is not a beach vehicle, most probably designed in UK, not a William Towns design and yes, it was made for a movie.
