I wouldn't fancy steering it down the Stelvio.
I must be right - that's what it says on Wikipedia

I'll start. Gilco chassis? (They'll find it easier to drive with a steering wheel.)
I must be right - that's what it says on Wikipedia

I know who made it and the engine, nothing more so far.
I don't think it has a Gilco, but can't be sure.

Are you saying that the puzzle car is not a:'51 Fiat Topolino Barchetta Corsa, or that the sample picture I posted isn't that particular '51 Fiat Topolino Barchetta Corsa?

The puzzle car is different from the one in your picure, I think. They are both Fiat Topolino based.
I have the name of the car (that is, as usual, Fiat - _____ Topolino) but not a year.

You're right, it's definitely not the same car!
The fuel filler is in a different place; the high-mounted exhaust is absent on the picture posted by 4popoid, and the puzzle car seems to have wire wheels..

Is it a Nardi?
A totally new name for me, but after some digging, I found it is correct. Not Nardi.

I found it as 1951 Fiat Topolino Barchetta Corsa, apparently of recent construction.

Yes, a Topolino of recent construction. Who build it?

I also found a front view, but the name Loreno always seems to turn up, could it be Lorenzo?

Not Loreno or Lorenzo.
It's Lor___no,  not an usual Italian name.
Here's another front view.
Still locked for you, (but i'm looking for it's full name.)

Is it Loregno?
Here's another front view from a British magazine about Italian Motors, where the author of the article keeps mentioning his friend "Loreno" that home built this car and some motorcycles.

Somebody somewhere might have mis-spelt the name!
As Robbie says 'my mate Loreno' as he refers to him has built a Ducati motorcycle and this Fiat Topolino Barchetta Corsa.  He never gives him any other name!
