Looks so cool70s?
A styling exercise rather than an actual race car?
Going purely from memory (as I'm at a very wet Silverstone with no wi-fi) is this a Crosbie (or Crosby?), an American VW-based kit car from c.1979-85?
1980 John Griffith's Griffin!Powered by: VW
I think it was called the Griffin. It looked like a race car. It was a Kit Car. Existed in the early ‘80s I believe. Featured in a mag I once owned. In the feature it was yellow. Had rectangular headlamps mounted above the body work. Even had wings. Pretty sure it was British. Anyone know anything? Have any images?Sure wouldn’t mind learning about it again, 30+ years later. What I’ve found since I put the post up...___________________http://fiberclassics.org/the-griffon-f1-style-kit-car/Pics don’t come up though.
This is the same car as https://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/2009-37/q561-solved-griffonbut there is a disagreement between both threads about the name.See also: https://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/news-information-and-feedback/information-requests-what-is-this-car-thread/msg455305/#msg455305
I know the caption spells it 'Griffon' but I reckoned it was 'Griffin' as that's more closely related to the builder's name (John Griffiths).Maybe somebody knows for sure..
