That seems to be the 4.9 litre Sunbeam that Jean Chassagne drove in the Coppa Florio on November 9, 1922. It came 4th and Anthony Heal tells us that, after an oil pipe broke, it ran on olive oil for the last lap.
The photo is said to be in the paddock and as the race was on the Circuito Madonie it would be in Cerda (Sicily of course!).

A full and complete answer. Thanks for taking an interest Allan - the Rookies and Experts didn't ask enough questions.

The team cars were made especially for this event from a 1921 GP chassis, and a 4.9 litre 6-cylinder engine dating from 1916. Before that the same chassis had run in that year's Tourist Trophy.

Compare and contrast the paddock with today's "Tilkedromes" and the sanitised conditions the mechanics (sorry, technicians) now work in.
