Solved NIC#137 - 1959 Poggi Formula Junior
« on: February 18, 2014, 04:50:42 PM »
Don't all racing cars look the same?  ;D . For a point, tell me the year and marque.

(One of the editors will probably now point out that I forgot to modify the photo - they'll be right, but quite honestly I can't be bothered! It'll be a chance for the Rookies to use their initiative.)

It is Italian, but not an Osca. And you're correct - it's a Formula Junior car.

Poggi Fiat Formule Junior.  I think that's it because I found photo with the same stickers.

Yes! A point for you for perseverance. you had already got the year correct - 1959. That was the year that the Formula was full of Italian front-engined cars like mini-Grand Prix machines. They had virtually disappeared the next year because of the rear-engined Lotus and Cooper cars. And they all looked similar in appearance.

The driver is Mike Waller in his PM Poggi.

Argh, it looks like my post took a while to upload, as I sent it from my i-Phone, relying on the poor wi-fi connection at Nimes airport.  Arghhhhhh!!

Judging by the badge it really should be Poggi-Massimino
