I've been trying to solve this from time to time. It looks like a Terraplane or Hudson, and it seems to be adapted for the long-distance South American road races. Having said that, the location looks wrong, more like Australia.

I haven't found a thing. Is any of my previous paragraph correct?

..but yes, it is indeed Hudson Terraplane-based and it's in Australia, so well-spotted there.
Since that's such a good start I'll lock it for you until your next reply or for 48 hours whichever is the sooner, to see if you can track it down.

I wasted some time thinking it must have competed in the Ampol or Redex Trials, or completed some kind of "round" or "trans" Australia crossing. None of it - it actually competed in the 1936 Australian Grand Prix at one point!

It belonged to Les Burrows, and is pictured outside his garage and Hudson dealership in Bowral, New South Wales. It's a 1936 Hudson Terraplane fitted with the body from a 1935 model, modified by Properts Body Works of Camperdown in Sydney. Les used it to compete in many types of race in Australia.

To think that in 1936 we in Europe were watching the Silver Arrows in such events.
