I wasted some time thinking it must have competed in the Ampol or Redex Trials, or completed some kind of "round" or "trans" Australia crossing. None of it - it actually competed in the 1936 Australian Grand Prix at one point!
It belonged to Les Burrows, and is pictured outside his garage and Hudson dealership in Bowral, New South Wales. It's a 1936 Hudson Terraplane fitted with the body from a 1935 model, modified by Properts Body Works of Camperdown in Sydney. Les used it to compete in many types of race in Australia.
To think that in 1936 we in Europe were watching the Silver Arrows in such events.
