Veri interesting, but does anybody know more about this Carrozzeria?
It looks to be mentioned only about this very car (that however still keeps original Vignale badges) and I've not found any detail of its story except with reference of it being on sale.
All the details were completely unknown to me too until the car appeared For Sale recently.
It seems the details were unknown to everyone else too even though the car has been around for 52 years! How can that be?
Below is repeated the literature from the websites where the car appears (sorry about the Google translation..):

1964 Maserati Series I Sebring "Bompani"One-off by Carrozzeria Marchesi. This unique piece was commissioned in 1963 by Commendatore Bompani, a respected industrialist from Modena. The unique square headights were from a Allemano Maserati 5000 GT Indianapolis. New steel rims were also installed on the Series I Sebring.
• Single piece of Vignale and Marchesi
• Delivery status
• complete history
• newly delivered in Modena, Italy
Vehicle History:
This unique piece in 1963 commissioned by Commendatore Bompani, a respected industrialist from Modena, Maserati commissioned. Originally intended for delivery in June, Mr Bompani came due to several special requests but only in October of the same year for his 3500 GTi.
The dual headlights of Sebring at all he did not like, so he made it a condition that his Maserati should be equipped with large single headlights. Maserati, very concerned about customer satisfaction, especially in this case, made everything possible.
The car still has the same leather as the first owner Bompani.
The Sebring corresponds thus visually and technically absolutely the delivery status from 1963, providing a rare opportunity, a unique piece of Maserati automobiles possess.

So Alessandro, you'll have to don your Sherlock Holmes deerstalker and find out who on earth Carrozzeria Marchesi were!
