Thanks,  for letting me complete the answer. The wheel wells were clearly glas, but I was not absolutely sure of the quarter windows on the doors, these were hard to see in the pic.

The Glas 1700 was build from  1965-1967 by Frua. From  June 1968 the car was build as a BMW 1600 GT

That's right, yes.
Quite a rare car even when new, more so now.
It was also made as a 1300 GT (242 built), then there were 122 x 1700 GT cabriolets plus 2 x 1600 GT cabriolets once they became BMW-ised.
Since Frua is one of my favourite designers I love these little cars; they are perfectly-formed.
