You certainly wouldn't get me behind the wheel. The builder was often involved with cars which involved a degree of courage on behalf of the driver.

Any relation with Colin Chapman / Lotus ?

500cc Formula 3 ?

I think it could be fitted with a 500cc F3 engine, but in this puzzle it is not.

Definitely a one-off. I'm not actually sure who built this car, so I only need the name of the regular driver, as well as the marque.

Well done PJ! It's the Farley, not to be confused with the Fairley. It was regularly driven by Chris Summers, a man who apparently had no fear when you consider some of the cars he drove. In the puzzle photo it was fitted with a 998cc JAP engine and two superchargers! Period reports of sprints and hillclimbs which featured the car comment on the fact that it didn't motor at any time in a straight line.

One well-earned point to you.
