Bentley MKVI, built for Captain R G McLeod. Captain McLeod hated overhangs, and the car is thus about 8 inches shorter than a standard MKVI in order to reduce them.

He ordered several Bentleys like this - his Koren S3 Continental with cut-off rear has a pleasing air of the BMC ADO16 about it...

Quite so, yes!
Just the one question left to answer for your point: who built it?

I s it still locked or has it been released?

Bentley Mark VI, #B22AK
After an interlude with Lancia and Citroen motor cars during the immediate post-war period R.G. McLeod's interest in Bentley revived and he commissioned H.J. Mulliner to produce a new body for his 1947 Bentley Mark VI, #B22AK. From the chassis 9 inches were "chopped-off" to make for minimal overhang. The basic design showed a very close resemblance to the body from the pre-war time. However Capt. R.G. McLeod had found the wings on his previous Citroen Light 15 to be much to his liking and asked H.J. Mulliner for the wings on his Bentley Mark VI to be to the pattern of the Citroen.

The body is by Mulliner

Well, it was still locked, yes, as I hadn't unlocked it..

Capt Slow has been true to his name but I think it's a bit unfair not to award him a point because he provided so much information, info which may well have provided your answer to the puzzle.

In the spirit of the game I'll give you a point as well, but please don't reply to locked puzzles with the full answer; you should first ask the puzzle-setter if it's locked or not and then wait for it to be opened up.  If you'd asked me first before posting the answer I would have unlocked it since Capt Slow had had a week to reply.

My info said the body used a Citroen windscreen too, by the way!

Thanks, I was not sure as I noticed some puzzles being locked in the header, I had not tried if I could or could not post to them, as I had no idea about the car.
It was easy with the reference to the Captain mc Leod who had some rather peculiar bodied Bentleys (he could have inspired Issigonis for the mini all wheels on the corners, not the engine layout).

regards

Although there is a 'Lock Topic' button at the bottom of the page no-one ever uses that as I believe it locks the topic completely, not for an individual puzzler.

Locks are only notional; once a puzzler says it's locked he simply means no-one else may post replies until he unlocks it if it doesn't get solved in the meantime.
