Aha - one of the those great "forgotten" classics. That's the '53 Manta Ray fiberglass vision built by Glen Hire and Vernon Antoine, a couple of guys from North American Aviation in their Whittier, CA garage. "Wanting to incorporate the swift flowing lines of a jet fighter plane into a car’s styling." A production version was actually proposed!

That's it, yes; said to have been influenced by the GM Le Sabre show car of 1951.

For some reason, that photo from Otto's puzzle makes me hear a voice in my head saying "These aren't the droids you're looking for"   ;D
