Surely a re-post?
But I can't find it, so what is it, from when - for 1 point?:

Quite so.
Locked for you to say what powers it (in other words it's a Tojeiro-**** (what?).
-
tad 2/55 was born a tojiero-turner 1500
it has been converted to the engine the other two built that year had.....a britsol two litre.....so it is a tojiero-bristol

Yes, that's right - but you're not going to get it wrong are you, even if you do need to check how to spell 'Tojeiro'!
Lovely car..
-
"Toj" is looking down right now and is gonna spank me when I cross the pearly gates :)
My bad.

What's this, from when, powered by what, built by whom and bodied by whom - all for 1 point?:!

tojeiro sports racer....bristol powered
Not wrong but there's lots more information still required for the point.
I'll lock it for you for 24 hours to come up with the rest; shouldn't be difficult to find.

4 full days have passed so this is unlocked!

Experts?

I'll give it a shot. 1954 Tojeiro "Trojan" Bristol Sport, powered by a Bristol V6, built by John Tojeiro, bodied by Grey and Rich Panelcraft of Hammersmith.

Yes, you're absolutely right.
I don't know why prototypefan never managed to complete this one but it's your point!
Well done.

Perhaps he'd never heard of a Bristol V6 or a Tojeiro called a "Trojan" either.
-
Neither had I so I tried my best to find out some details about this car.
But everywhere it popped up it was described as "Trojan"!
I'm still not sure I believe it...
I think the engine is the 2-litre Bristol; not quite sure why anyone said it was a V6. A typo perhaps (hopefully!)
-
If this is the ex-Percy Crabbe car, then it was registered 8APH. It certainly fits the spec.
The internet continues to cause awe and wonder. Sadly, much of what is available there will go into history as fact.
(Trojan is a new one to me, also.)
-
Indeed it is the original Percy Crabbe car..
I reckon when the seller of this car compiled the blurb he had auto-correct on his computer switched on; not recognising 'Tojeiro' the computer changed it into 'Trojan'!
It's entirely possible...

Prototypefan owns one of the three Tojeiro Sports Racers built. Whoever wrote the description of this car had no idea what they were talking about. I'd be willing to bet there is no such thing as a Trojan and there certainly wasn't a V6 Bristol engine. At least he spelled Tojeiro correctly... ::)

I just answered what the classified ad said :P

and that ad is proof that the old adage "to err is human, but to really mess things up you need a computer" is still valid! 8)

In the interest of accuracy and correctness can we correct the title and merge this with the other Tojeiro Sports Racer thread (which is already a merged thread)? To claim something that some moron posted (that is nothing but an autocorrect misprint) as fact is really not in the best interest of this board, is it?. I could post a dozen links to this car showing it for what it actually is. The name Trojan is not associated with any of them. If someone can point me to a link that is historically correct and reputable that shows this car with any connection to Trojan, I will happily edit my post and apologize.

Yes, I agree, it's best to erase all mention of "Trojan".
But can you give me a link to the original (merged) thread please? I've been unable to find it under either "Tojeiro Bristol" or "Tojeiro-Bristol"?
Thanks.

I found one thread here...
http://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/index.php?topic=22689.msg242339#msg242339
But I have a strong recollection of another puzzle recently of the same car and I thought they were merged.
Here is another thread on the same car. For some reason I thought they had been merged...
