SOLVED: Djetset 750 - Sunbeam Alpine designer Kenneth Howes
« on: November 03, 2015, 08:47:29 AM »
Something a little different for my 750th individual puzzle.

For a point, can you name the car (make and model) connected with this pram, and tell me what the link is.

Another image clue to follow if (when?) this puzzle makes it up to the next level.

Seven years today I discovered AutoPuzzles, and life has never been quite the same since..!

To mark these seven years, I'm now moving this puzzle up to the Pros, along with another photo clue, as promised.

If you reply, please forgive my slow response, but currently my Notification e-mail alerts are not working, so I'm not looking at the site as often as I normally do.  Thanks

No American dream car relationship, and sorry, but that's not a woofer  :(

He worked on a few car projects, but is best known for designing one car in particular.

I wish I could read the name on the side of that pram! It seems to be 2 words, but it doesn't look like the most famous name in that field. The puzzle solution is obviously someone who was an industrial designer working in the 1960s.

I'm going to panic and throw in the first name I could think of - David Ogle?
I must be right - that's what it says on Wikipedia

Gosh, a lot of names and suggestions, none of which are correct as yet.  The pram is not well known, but seemingly it inspired a whole new style of pram design around the world.  As far as I know, the designer was British born and bred.

Was the mystery car produced by a major manufacturer (like Jaguar, Rover or Austin) or a small one (like Reliant, AC, Jensen) ?
