Yes, it was built in the USA, plus one other country.

Double-checking some information on this car earlier, I should have said that it is more closely related to GM's 355 platform (Chevrolet Colorado, etc.) than it is the Blazer, although that is a kissing cousin too.

Apparently it was called that on the production line so I assumed that was what it was nicknamed during development.
