Solved - als096 - Rookies'Christmas
« on: December 24, 2014, 04:36:30 AM »
6 cars, probably already featured in the past on Autopuzzles, as a special Christmas gift for rookies only: 6 easy points for the newcomers, if they are able to identify the cars.

1.  Nash Metropolitan (on skis?)
2.  1928 Model A
3.  1964 Trabant
4. 1978 Mazda Flatbed
5.  I want to say Fiat 500, but I'm pretty sure that's wrong based on the rear window.
6.  1963 Chevy Impala

Good start.
1, 2 (I assume you meant a Ford Model A, but being a rookie the answer is good as well) and 6 are correct.
For 3 and 4 I need the model name, not just the make (that are indeed correct).
5 is definitely not a Fiat.

As usual, points will be awarded at the end.

1.  Nash Metropolitan - rickjames8
2.  Ford Model A - rickjames8
3.  Trabant P601 Universal - rickjames8
4. Mazda B1800 - rickjames8
5.  Photoshopped cars - no points for this one.
6.  Chevrolet Impala Convertible  - rickjames8

rickjames8: 5 points

The Trabant is a P601 and the Mazda is a flatbed version of a B1800?

The Fiat-looking thing I'll need to work on...

I've spent far too much time looking for this last one.   :)   I was going to guess a Steyr Puch, but that's basically a clone of the Fiat.    Is it Italian?   Judging by the fire escape ladders, I'm guessing the photo was taken in the USA, but that doesn't tell me much.

Honestly, I've no idea. The wheels look like a Steyr-Puch 500 and the door like a Fiat 500. But everything else is different. I'm afraid it could be a nice Photoshop and not a real car.
Can any expert tell us more?
If it's not a real car, the puzzle closes here and you get all points.
So, I move up, to allow everybody to write a reply.

Is it perhaps a ZAZ Zaporozhets?

I don't think so: ZAZ 965 has rear-hinged doors.

I've found this same photo on several Christmas card websites ........ this may in fact be a imaginative creation without being an actual vehicle.
Several sites list it as a "Fiat 500", however, the wheel arches are wrong as well as the divided rear window, and the "bustle back" rear treatment is distinctly non-Fiat

Good. Let's close here. I was actually afraid it could have been a Photoshop.
