I bought his book and still don't know how to rate it.
It's a perfect example of a splendid book ruined by a poor, POOR use of pictures!
1st time I received it I was upset...I had planned to write a short review but changed my mind.
I'll explain what I mean with few pics.
On the other hand, the research, the material and the info provided are with no doubt of the highest level (with the usual few mistakes: for example Jean Barou is misspelt Barrou).
I wonder how is it possible that such a great work on this interesting topic can be spoiled by pictures like these!
And I'm not talking about pictures of obscure and rare versions... sometimes even the Coachbuilder's logos are poorly pictured. I would not have nothing to complain if it was a cheap book, but the price was in line with the author's work, not the publisher's (or whoever is in charge of resizing pictures).
In these pictures you have examples. It's not an effect of my scanner. As you can see in the page about Beutler, top and bottom pics are fine, but the ones in the middle, well...
I would buy it again, because the author's work behind this book is worth it, but be aware of those grainy pics. (not all of them of course!).
