Yes it was, made specifically for the owner/user. It was later replaced by a different model by the same manufacturer, who built cars - thus the link to autopuzzles.

It was designed and built for Brom Wells, a disabled orchardist from Te Puke. It is based on a Heron Electric Truck.

The vehicle has no proper name. In the articles available on Heron's website it is called by generic descriptions such as "chair cart" or "special vehicle for orchardist". As I've found the source of the puzzle I hope it's enough for a point !

Absolutely this is it, given every main reference I've found is Chaircart - like the image names - that's absolutely the name I was after. Well done!

(On a side note, you often reverse the images you post as puzzles, and I think it goes against AutoPuzzles' rulebook)

Congratulations!

I do this to avoid people using Google Image search, it didn't even cross my mind that it would change the orientation of LHD/RHD cars (I really should have...).
If it's an issue I will stop but I feel the added difficulty in the images being discovered does make for an added benefit.

Just reversing an image per se is not against the rules.
It only is when it serves to make an LHD car look RHD or vice versa or serves to confuse unfairly in some other way.
I often do it when it's a side-view and it doesn't make any difference, but of course never to reverse the position of the steering-wheel.
