No not at all, only a handful or less were supposedly made after the first created for his own family.

Yes from the midwest, not Illinois though, that at least narrows it down. I was preparing a counter out of 50 for all the states.

The source this dates from is from 1955, yes, though to be honest I'm guessing it was actually created or conceived at least the year prior.
