Air-cooled engine?
I must be right - that's what it says on Wikipedia

Air-cooled engine?
I cannot say with certainty as the engine was made specifically for this car and this car alone. The actual details of the engine specifications I'm having trouble pinning down. Sorry!

This is a rare photo, it's an early incarnation of the Chamberlain 8. It was originally built in the late 20's by Bob Chamberlain (driving),  to his own design. It was front wheel drive and used a v-twin Indian engine.

Later on in the 30's, a 1 litre 4 cylinder, 8 piston Junkers type engine was built for it. The car still exists today, with this engine. As for what it was called before the Chamberlain 8, I'm not sure, I'm guessing something simple like the Chamberlain Special?

Outstanding, I'll hold the point for you, a little bit of searching will net you the one extra name given to this, the Chamberlain Special.

His brother Bill built the special engine. But the puzzle car is actually the earlier Indian powered version.

Ah I was not aware it was dated from that period. Thanks for clearing up the confusion. That said, there's still an extra name attached to this car, one that I've confirmed is also available on the internet and rather easily findable.

The point is still held for you as you're very clearly aware of the car, but I do need the final name, or nickname if you will, of this car.

That's what I was after, the point is duly yours!

VW may have gotten their naming inspiration from these Aussies...
