Did this car compete primarily in SCCA races?

American, Jaguar XK-based, raced in the 1950s in SCCA. Was it raced in the West Coast?

I think he later raced an original, used Jaguar D-Type in the USA.

However I have no information if he built other cars.

Carlyle Blackwell ?

Sorry, can I withdraw that?

Is this the Brennan Beast?  Merle Brennan raced a car of that name in 1957 for the Reno Racing Team, and it was entered in the C modified class, which would make it about the engine size of a Jaguar XK. Just a hunch......

Looking at 12 pages of results by D-Type drivers, the only name that fits is a Dan Boylan, but can't be since you wrote it's not Boyle but Boy___.
I thought it could be a Boyd/Boyde and browsing the 87 chassis history files recorded in a certain website, the only name that matches is George Boyd, who had #XKD529 in the 70s.
