He built GRP bodies for a low-volume manufacturer, I don't think they were available as kits but I may be mistaken

I think I'll have to tackle this a different way. maybe I'll guess the car maker and work backwards from there.

You say it was a low-volume maker of GRP-bodied cars, probably ready-built and not in kit form. Did he work for Elva?

Not Elva, slightly less well known. they mainly built racing cars, some single seaters and some sports-racers, but they could be used as road cars too.
