When I first saw it, I thought "Connaught ASLR" . . . but the front end doesn't look quite right. I'm still looking . . .

Could it be a modified Talbot Lago T26?

I think that this is a TVR Type C, with a body by Rochdale which was made from molds taken from a damaged Connaught ASLR brought in to Rochdale Motor Panels for repairs (I just KNEW that it looked like a Connaught!). This would have been about 1955. The photo was likely taken at TVR in Blackpool. I don't know if they made any others, although it would seem like an awful lot of work taking molds off of the Connaught just to do one car?

Indeed that's what it is; the picture is taken at the TVR factory in Beverley Grove, Blackpool.
I guess there were a few Rochdales with this body but I believe this is the only one fitted to a TVR chassis.
Well done!

The front grille came from a Bond Minicar.

A car with one of these Rochdale bodies was regularly featured on the front cover of Brands Hatch programmes around 1957 - I'll have to try and find out exactly what it was.

Here it is - actually it would have made a good puzzle. It's the car of John Horridge, and is in fact a Lister-Bristol registered DEN275, with a Rochdale type C body. Nota Bene the typical Bristol twin exhausts.

Sorry- that image won't upload - here's a different one.

The chassis is a Lister and the photo was taken at Rochdale Motor Panels, Hudson Street, Rochdale, Lancs.
