Oh, you know, spending some quality time at the remnants of a once well-known website yielded this:
The story about Solon is quite fascinating. Some people with common ideas, which leads to a growing hobby - and a company.
It all began early in the 80s in a small scale - with an electric car for Hansi Kobes grandchildren. Later, the advertising agency man built two more for them.
One of these were also serial produced, and sold under the name Karo. Its 3/4hp engine gave power for 8 hours driving, with a top speed of 15 km/h (which could be adjusted downwards). The 1,3 metre long car had a plastic body and spoke wheels.
A larger electric sports car was presented sometime after the mid 80s. An open 2-seater with a Volkswagen chassis. The engine gives it a top speed of 110 km/h, and charged batteries last for 60 km.
