Well, the one in the middle is indeed van Dieten. But I need to know what car we see on the right. The year is still close, but not 1951....

It seems to have lost its cyclops headlight over the years. As the other headlights seem to protrude less than in the 1948 picture, perhaps a nose job was done after an accident.

We had the car in its initial guise before: http://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/index.php?topic=12949.0

I also saw that the head lights were a bit different from the original 1948 pic, could well be because of an accident. I could ask some of my friends who know all about Zandvoort history

Thank you Saco. I thought I was going mad - which is left and which is right?

In this case, I think SACO meant "Right as you look at it" rather than "Grid [stage] right".

Is that an RM Riley on the third row?  Hardly likely to provide any competition to an XK120.
 is it!

I thought it looked like a "waterfall" grille of a late-30s American sedan. I think the Dutch were like the British in this era with regards to production car races - if it was in production, then it raced against anything else "in production". Sports cars and saloons all lumped together.

There are indeed 2 Gatso's. The white one on the left is a Gatso 4000 Roadster driven by Klaas Barendregt, in the middle the XK120 Roadster from Johannes van Dieten and on the right the Gatso 4000 Coupé driven by Maus Gatsonides himself
