Hope you won't mind me answering my own question...  :D

I was apparently heading in the right direction since it appears to be an Austin Seven "Ace" Sports model, possibly built by Flood Body Builders in Melbourne, Australia. The Austin Ace was a rare variation of the Meteor and featured a slightly different cowl and body shell.
