Do you know this car? Great! Because I don't. So this may be a repost. I know a country and an approximate year. Otherwise it is up to you to give me proof. So for a point: who built this?

I should have read the question again! This could take some time I think. Usually I would put the date around 1948/50 but competitive racing cars were hard to come by in Australia at the time, and it could be any time into the mid-50s. Or pre-war

Thanks for the tip on the year. I've been looking at that supercharger on the front, and working on a theory that it could be based on an MG K3, but the exhaust ports are on the wrong side. That exhaust arrangement is very professional for a homebuilt car.

It could be the start of a hillclimb rather than a race. In the meantime I'll work on the year - 1958?

If you want confirmation of this solution, I can tell you he's correct. I'm annoyed that I didn't find it, but now I know the answer, it's all so obvious!
