You can ask me what you want about the base car  ;), but I won't tell you nothing (or almost nothing) about the coachbuilder.  Tell me both of them and you'll have a point.

The curtains suggest a mobile brothel.  ;) :D

Base is a Fiat 238. To begin with guesses on the coachbuilder, is it made by Introzzi?

targhediferro

Not Introzzi and a little clue...the coachbuilder is not the first one you think  wearing a Fiat 238.

No connection with Weinsberg, nor with caravan at all.

One of the few I've seen making four-door hearses in the 60s is Riva... but I never saw a 238 by them.

targhediferro

Not by Riva; I don't actually know if this vehicle may be considered a hearse, or if it was built for morgue use.

Bill Murray

Sorry, I am having a Bad New Years Evening.

I believe the coach builder is Frappa of France but I lost my connection, where it also had a rear view of the body but I cannot remember where I found it and I did not save the photos.

I will continue to look, but that is my answer.

Happy New Year!!!

Happy new year to you Bill!   It seems to be a good beginning for you, because your answer is absolutely correct. Since half seventies Frappa converted its production into refrigerating vans, and so realized some special hearse for obituary and morgues. The quiz vehicle is one of these. A well deserved point for an hard nut. ;D

Bill Murray

Thank you Fabrizio!!

And, yes, the place I found the photos was on a French truck history site and there was a chapter dealing with refrigerator trucks and there were these two photos of a "morgue car" built by Frappa.

If I ever find the other photo I will post it here.
