Here you are 2 cars.
For 2 points I'll need: make, model and coachbuilder of both cars, event, year and at least the team of 1 car.
2 points for those info.
I won't lock it and only one of you will get those points!

Text deleted.
The question came up without a picture and I thought it was a 'blind' question

For some reason I thought we couldn't ask questions, but I've just read the puzzle and I suppose questions are allowed, although they will help others.

The cars are simple, and so the coachbuilders shouldn't be hard to find. It's those numbers that have me confused.

South America?

Not South America.
Cars are simple indeed...one is quite known and still around nowadays.
The race is not one of the biggest ones but not totally obscure and one of the team is a known couple.
Why this puzzle, then? Easy, I have all the answers but one and this is the fastest way to get it  ;)

EDIT: I can't be sure of that, sorry.

This is hard work. I have identified one of the car/driver combinations, and I thought I knew which event it was, but the competition numbers don't agree.

The banner reading "Andele Maserati" was the reason I thought it might be South America. This is Italy, isn't it??

The picture looks Italian, but the shorts suggests otherwise.  Is it in prewar Libya?

Even without race number details, there does not seem to be an event which agrees with what we are seeing in the puzzle photo. Those numbers indicate a large entry, which makes me wonder - is this a hillclimb?

Yes!
I knew it was taken at the 2nd Stella Alpina in 1948. I recognized Carlo Canavesi's Colli-bodied speciale and I knew that the other one was driven by Basso - Basso....but I couldn't find the Coachbuilder of the car on the left. I thought of Pininfarina, but it's not in my Catalog or in any book...(or probably I didn't find it yet!)

2 points for you!

Well ay least I got the "hillclimb" part right!

Which, of course, I didn't! I had never heard of the event, so I just did some research, and realise it was a kind of rally based on Trento, and comprised 4 legs starting and finishing there, each leg comprising fast regularity stages and timed hillclimbs. You really learn stuff on AP. And there's a book published about the event - possibly where this photo comes from?

I have this picture of a different but quite similar car, dating from 1942;  does anybody knows if the quiz car is from 1946 or earlier?  Does anybody knows if it still survive?

The car had obviously been involved in a minor accident - I wonder whether the owner had the car altered to a more modern appearance when it was being repaired?

Does anybody got that picture again? It went lost when my PC crashed and I know it's in some magazines of mine but it will take forever to retrieve it.
In the meantime, one of those cars today....it's really beautiful in ...person!
