I tried to keep this game as fair as possible, but it's always a game and fortunately the biggest part of it is related to sheer luck....
I won't call your nearly missed top makers 'errors': you thought they were in that area but you couldn't be sure...other players may hope that a number before BMW (2) is indeed BMW (1) but it won't be always like that. In the meantime I added quite a number of new makers, to keep this uncertainty.
On the other hand, other players may have just 1 stab to each 'supposed' easy shot, no more than that, and each one will help yet another player.
It's true, if you wait, the list will became more defined, but consider this: when it started, we reached
264 posts in few hours! It means that if a puzzler was far from a PC that day, he would have no chance to catch up with the game.
I knew it was a matter of time but nobody told anyone to rush...I would have done the same you did, it's strangely addictive to post a number and see what turns out, even for me that have just to look in my index to see what it is.
Wendax game is over now, and for sure if he waited more and more he would have reached 1000 before, but I'm sure he enjoyed the game even if there's the chance he won't win...
