Dear Paul Jaray,

thank you for your benvenuto, and grazie to you all at AutoPuzzles.

I've been following AutoPuzzles since several weeks and I must congratulate you and the other Forumers, especially the more experts, for finding (and then finding the name/date of) cars that are very often extravagant, real gems of automotive history and knowledge. I can barely manage to solve one half of the puzzles recurring to some dozens of books in my library, which is not a good result for an old-time enthusiast like myself.  :-[

I'm sincerely puzzled by this Aprilia. This grille is so characteristic of Littorio-era Italian sports cars that it might be a little misleading, having been used in more or less the same shape by Fiat Carrozzerie Speciali or Pininfarina or Aprile (Corrado LoPresto's Aprilia....) without being a real trade mark. I wait with bated breath for the solution that will obviously force me to slap myself on my forehead thinking "Here! It was simple!"  ;D

All the best from Italy,

Stefano

Don't wait and join the game!
It's not a totally obscure name, it's been featured here more than once with other cars and you'll see that the best part of the game is the search!
I'll post a side view soon.  ;)

This is a car that I found in Frostick's Lancia book, obviously a very different car but a formally similar grille.....

That grille is reminding me of some car I've just exhamined, though a long close-up look at a nice 508 MM Fiat might have impaired my judgement. I'm impatient to see what this unknown beauty is. Riva could be a pretender.....

Cheers

Stefano
