Girl M is Marie Thérèse (1778-1851) Duchess of France.
Right girl, wrong title.  ;)

Dashboard 10's shape reminds me of an MG dashboard but the instrument layout, and steering wheel aren't original.
Good observation.

However, this dashboard looks like it could be a custom layout for a MGTD Duchess replica kit car.

So I'll try: pictures 10 & M, with the connection being Duchess.
Both conclusions are wrong, anyhow.

Girl M is Marie Thérèse of France (1778-1851) Duchess d'Angoulême.  Sorry, she is a French Duchess, but bore the title of her husband.

Do I understand correctly that 10 & M are not the correct paring, or are they the correct pair, but I gave the wrong connection?

That's correct, but she had another title that will bring you closer to the puzzle solution.

10 and M do not pair.

Girl M, Marie Thérèse Charlotte, Duchess of Angoulême, became Dauphine of France in 1824 when her father-in-law became King Charles X, and her husband Louis Antoine became the Dauphin (heir to the throne).

Dashboard 8 is a Renault Dauphine, possibly set up for rallying, with non-standard instrumentation in the centre of the dash.

You got it Tom!  I figured it out after I went to bed last night (early this morning), but decided to get some sleep and wait until this morning.  My loss.

Dashboard 5 is from a StreetScooter, an electric delivery vehicle commissioned by Deutsche Post.

Girl K is an unknown young lady on a Vespa scooter.

So, pictures 5 & K, with the connection being scooter.

The girl and the connection are right, but there is more to this car which uses a Renault Dauphine as base, but is not a Renault. The extra instruments may serve as a hint.

M - 8 locked for Tom_I to find the right car.

One more correct combination.

Duh! I should have realised. They are electrical meters, and the car is a Henney Kilowatt, an all-electric car produced in the US in 1959/60 by a consortium called the National Union Electric Company. The bodywork and interior were virtually identical to the contemporary Renault Dauphine.

Another step closer to the solution. It is an electric conversion of a Renault Dauphine, but not the Henney Kilowatt.

I hadn't heard of this one before, but is this the Dauphine Electric launched at the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto in 2001? Based on restored original Renault Dauphines, but with all-electric drivetrains, these were produced by a Canadian company called Feel Good Cars, later renamed to ZENN Motor Company.

I was surprised, too, to find so many different builders of electric Dauphines. It is not a Feel Good which has more modern extra instruments:

I'm running out of ideas here. Is it a Yardney Electric from the US, 1967?

The central instrument/switch panel seems to match.

Let's have a try at Dashboard 13 which is a Volkswagen 1303 "Super Beetle". However, on looking closer, I think it's a 1974 World Cup Special Edition.

After West Germany's victory in the 1974 football World Cup, Karmann produced a batch of 25 VW 1303 convertibles painted in Cliff Green and black, with "World Cup '74" sidestripes and football-shaped gear lever knobs. These were given to members of the West German squad.

Girl I shows husband and wife Gerd and Uschi Müller, who would have received one of the World Cup Beetles.

Good sleuthing! It is indeed the VW 1303 World Cup 74 as well as Uschi and Gerd Müller. He shot the 2-1 goal for Germany in the final against some orange team.  ;)

The picture was taken from the sedan version which was available to the public.

I think I've identified another dashboard, but I'm finding it hard to make a connection.

So a question, if I may. Is the model name of the car with Dashboard 2 also a word that could be used to describe something about one of the remaining girls?

Hard to tell if I follow your assumption correctly. Let me make you an offer: you tell your guess about Dashboard 2, and if it is correct, I'll lock that one for you.

Well, if you don't follow my assumption, then it's obviously wrong (I thought it probably was!).

But I'll take you up on your offer. Although it's left hand drive, I think Dashboard 2 is a Hillman Husky Series III, 1963-65, but I haven't got much further than that.

You are wrong, but so close to the right car that I will lock dashboard 2 for you to have one more guess. You will notice yourself whether your guess will be right as you can find the matching girl easily.

Of course! Dashboard 2 is a Commer Cob (basically the same as a Hillman Husky), so the link is with Girl E, who is carrying a maize cob up an escalator.

Time for another"Hail Mary" try.

Dashboard 10 might be from a Singer 4AD, albeit with a custom dashboard and steering wheel.

Girl F is Edith Piaf the famous French singer.

So, pictures 10 & F, with the connection being singer.

Dashboard 10 is not a Singer. You are right with identifying Edith Piaf, but 10 and F do not match.
