Thank you for the lock, but it was just a wild guess (Pierre Tissier and Jean Maillet were good friends)
I found some pictures online, but I couldn't read the name.
But let's give it a try:

Year: 1979

B40: the actual name is longer than that. You've got one correct character though.
1979: wrong decade.

ok, since Maillet named their creations Eric <x>, I would say: Eric 4 from 1981.

Here are the pictures I found. One of them is the puzzle car, the blue one is slightly different.

Eric 4 : the model name indeed starts with Eric 4 but it's not complete.

1981 : you're getting closer slowly.
