Yes, in a way. The car was constructed as an homage to Bugatti - it was not intended to be a replica.

Yes! The owner who commissioned the work wanted something as close as possible to a Bugatti, but not an exact copy - there seem to be more Bugattis today than were actually built at Molsheim.
